A History Behind the Guesthouse: The original plan for the St. Pirmin Guesthouse was to only include 50 rooms. However, the late Fr. Pirmin Ngolle, saw much greater things when he looked into the future. What he saw was the potential for a true foundation stone in our quest to become more financially independent. As our Director of Fundraising at the time, he strongly believed that he could raise the money needed to complete the Guesthouse with an additional 50 rooms. Unfortunately, Fr. Pirmin passed away in a tragic car accident after construction got underway. With the passing of Fr. Pirmin, we have been left without the sufficient funds needed for the completion of our St. Pirmin Guesthouse, now named for the man who believed in this project from the beginning. Our intention was to complete the Guesthouse by August of 2008 to coincide with our 50th jubilee celebration. We believe that our celebration will attract many visitors from all over the world and this would be the perfect setting to inaugurate our new Guesthouse. With our current lack of funds, however, our Guesthouse construction has been put to an indefinite halt. It is for this reason that we are reaching out to our friends and benefactors with our new capital campaign - Building our Future. We have set a goal of $250,000 and with this amount we will be able to complete our Guesthouse and begin to offer our hospitality to the many guests that we anticipate will visit our facilities. With the services that we will be able to offer , we trust that this will be the campaign in which we are able to lay the foundation stone to building our future as a financially self-sufficient monastery. |
